Our view is that most, if not all, difficult and complex issues or projects can best be framed and their resolution facilitated by having knowledgeable, engaged and experienced people first asking the right questions---people who are independent, disinterested, and objective. One of the hallmarks of good corporate governance and regulatory compliance is having such people available institutionally, often through oversight boards (or outside directors), to serve the greater interests of the corporation and its stakeholders. We provide this form of sounding board and experienced based inqury on a more informal, frequent and as needed basis to our clients around the world.
The formulation of a problem is often more essential than its solution, which may be merely a matter of mathematical or experimental skill. To raise new questions, new problems, to regard old problems from a new angle, requires creative imagination and marks real advances in science.
